Hi, I’m Jess! I have been obsessed with blogs for a while now and had talked about starting one for a couple of years. The main thing holding me back was picking a name, silly I know! My next excuse was how to set it up and what to blog about. I wanted to have it all figured out before I started. I finally discovered that I should go ahead and get started or I never would! I’ll learn as I go, so there may be some growing pains : )
All of the research I’ve found said that successful blogs focus on a niche subject. Well you know, a lot of the blogs I follow talk about a little bit of everything, which I thoroughly enjoy. There are also some blogs that I follow that focus specifically on food, crafting, etc. I’ve decided to write about whatever happens to be going in my life at the moment and what makes me happy. It has been nice to use the blog to keep family and friends in the loop as to what is going on in my life.
My current loves are crochet (I’m still learning but hope to finish a Christmas tree skirt by November of this year), book club, sweet tea (of course), banana pudding, and Game of Thrones. I find a lot of my inspiration on Pinterest and spend an exorbitant amount of time on there. I also have a bad habit of starting multiple projects and not always finishing them. Projects have been known to takeover my house lol. I at least have come to terms about this. I have also learned to accept that not all projects turn out how you would like or how you expected. Sometimes it takes two tries to get that batch of cookies just right, or a couple of extra holes in the wall to get that picture exactly where you want it on the wall. On the bright side, I usually learn from my mistakes : )
I’m originally from Atlanta, but now call the Rocket City (Huntsville, AL) home. While I’m not doing my 8-5, you can find me hanging out with my lab mix Riley or starting some craft or project around the house. I do my best to stay active and try new things. Hopefully you will stick around for the ride!
I recently also opened up a shop to compliment the blog. Right now it is mainly jewelry, accessories, and collegiate items. In the future, I hope to offer local handmade items and soap! I hope you stop by and take a look around : )
