Books I Read in 2015

1/22/17

Hello!  In case you are looking for a little reading inspiration, here are the books I read in 2015.  I know what you’re thinking…Jessica, it is 2017!  I know! I know!  I’m weird, and I keep a list of what I read each year (in addition to book club) like the nerd I am 🙂  Hope you enjoy!  What are you currently reading?!?

What I Read in 2015

If I Stay by Gayle Forman

Also a movie, If I Stay follows seventeen year old Mia after a serious car accident.

What Alice Forgot by Liane Moriarty

Another fantastic read from one of my favorite authors.  After a fall at the gym, Alice cannot remember what has happened the last ten years of her life.  Everything has changed, and she tries to remember what happened to make her so different from the person she was before.

Ranger’s Apprentice Series by John A. Flanagan

When 15 year old Will is chosen to be a Ranger’s apprentice, he discovers that Rangers are not all dark cloaks and magic that he was expecting.

Beach Town by Mary Kay Andrews

After her last location shoot ended up being a flop, Greer Hennessy is on the hunt for the picture-perfect under developed beach town.

Sarah’s Key by Tatiana de Rosnay

In 1942 in Paris, Sarah is hauled off by French police during the Vel’ d’Hiv’ roundup and locks her brother in the cupboard thinking she will be right back.  Flash forward to 2002, and on the 60th anniversary of Vel’ d’Hiv, journalist Julia Jarmond begins researching this day in France’s past for an article discovering Sarah’s story along the way.

Mortal Instruments Series by Cassandra Clare

Now a television series on ABC’s Freeform called “Shadowhunters,” the Mortal Instruments series follows Clary who discovers Shadowhunters who hunt demons and also encounters vampires, werewolves, and warlocks along the way.  (Spoiler alert:  the book series is waaay better than the television series—as always)

Sharp Objects by Gillian Flynn

Reporter Camille returns to her hometown to cover the murder of two pre-teen girls.  In typical Gillian Flynn style, expect plenty of unexpected twists and turns.

The Infernal Devices Series by Cassandra Clare

The Infernal Devices is actually the prequel series to the Mortal Instruments.  I loved that the prequel series introduced me to new characters that were also connected to those in the Mortal Instruments, and also connected some missing pieces.

The Throne of Glass Series (Books 1-4) by Sarah J. Maas

I’ll be honest, I read a lot of Young Adult novels, but it was really nice to see one with a completely different story.  Throne of Glass follows Celaena Sardothien, a female assassin, and I was immediately HOOKED.  While I rarely reread books, but this is a series I can definitely see myself rereading.

Be sure to also check out my 2014 Additional Reads!

Thanks for stopping by!

Hi I'm Jess, and I call the Rocket City (Huntsville, AL) home! While I'm not doing my 8-5, you can find me hanging out with my lab mix Riley or starting a craft or project (sometimes multiple) around the house. I'm always doing my best to stay active and try new things. Hopefully you will stick around for the ride!
