December 2014 Stitch Fix

12/13/14

This is my first Stitch Fix with my new stylist which I’ve been looking forward to.  You’ll also notice that my photographer is back, so no more hanging clothes on mirror pictures!  Even Riley made an appearance 🙂 lol  I know y’all have missed me and my awkward poses ; ) If you are new around here and want to learn more about Stitch Fix, check out this post.

1.  Prescott Solid Fringe Detail Wrap Scarf  by Look by M ($32)

This is the second scarf I received by the Look by M brand.  It is very warm, but I don’t need anymore winter scarfs and will not be keeping it. I don’t wear that many scarfs, and this one seemed really big. I updated my style profile to avoid scarfs.

2.  Marley Split Back Knit Top by Olive and Oak ($44)

This shirt is made out of a super comfy material.  The arms were a little tight.  The back is split open which I’ve noticed is a new trend, but I am not a big fan of.  I updated my style profile for the back to “less is more, keep it covered.” When I first filled out my style profile, I thought they were referring to the upper back.  Not keeping this one.  Doesn’t Riley look happy?  She has it so tough 😉

3.  Beaumont Faux Leather Trim Cardigan by RD Style ($98)

I literally laughed when I pulled this out of the box.  It is fuzzy, has leather trim, and to top it off is $98.  Not me at all–definitely sent back.  On a positive note, it was very warm. After this one, I updated all of my price preferences to “the cheaper the better.”

4.  Lottie Scarf Print 3/4 Sleeve Blouse by Daniel Rainn ($68)

I was pleasantly surprised by this blouse.  The price was a little more than I normally spend on shirts like this, but I liked how different the print was and I had a referral credit.  The back of the shirt is also longer in the back which I liked.  This ended up being the only item I kept.

5.  Yasmin Skinny Jean by Mavi ($98)

I chose not to take a picture of these skinny jeans.  After receiving skinny jeans in my last two fixes, I specifically left a note in my style profile to “please do not send any skinny pants.  And do not send me something twice unless specifically requested.”  So I was a little surprised when I received skinny jeans for the third time, and I was even more frustrated when they were $98.  I did try them on.  The one thing I did like was that they had a stretchy waistband, but they did not have any pockets on them which I thought was strange.
I contacted Stitch Fix to express my frustration.  They are going to credit my styling fee for my next fix.  I’m not giving up on Stitch Fix just yet–it is still exciting to receive it in the mail and try things on.  This fix just made me wonder why I am paying a styling fee if  the stylist isn’t going to read through my entire style profile.  Okay, vent over : )
For my next fix, I requested my stylist to focus on winter business casual clothes that are classic and conservative.

Again?? Geez!!!! You are so cute in all of these (Riley too)! But they were a little too expensive. Until next month!

Good grief with the skinny jeans. Hopefully next month will have some better choices. I do like the top you kept though. It's cute!

Hi I'm Jess, and I call the Rocket City (Huntsville, AL) home! While I'm not doing my 8-5, you can find me hanging out with my lab mix Riley or starting a craft or project (sometimes multiple) around the house. I'm always doing my best to stay active and try new things. Hopefully you will stick around for the ride!
