Hi folks! Sorry I’ve been MIA lately 😉 In May, I was busy getting married, honeymooning, and all that good stuff! Now I’m excited to share with you one of the items I made for our wedding–this inexpensive, easy DIY gift card box. I had seen similar gift card boxes on Etsy, but I knew I could make one for much cheaper.
I found all of my supplies at Hobby Lobby. Here is the breakdown:
*Regular burlap ($4–after the 50% off sale)
*Lace burlap ($7–after the 50% off sale, you do not have to buy this in the wedding section)
*Flower ($3–this is actually a childrens hair clip I found on an endcap)
*Gemstone Pearls ($3–after my 40% off coupon)
*Cardboard box ($3)
*2 pieces of fancy scrapbook paper ($2)
Total=$22 + tax Holla!

Supplies
I started by cutting out the slot for the envelopes. I used a ruler to draw a slot, and then cut it out with a knife.
Then I added on the pearls. You can break the pearls into sections to make them easier to attach. I let them hang over a little bit to hide my box cutting abilities 😉
Next I wrapped the box with the regular burlap and added a few dabs of hot glue to secure it. Then I overlapped the regular lace with the lace burlap.
After attaching the burlap, I clipped on the flower.
Then I layered the shimmery brown and sheer scrapbook paper, printed out our name and wedding date on printer paper, and used double sided scotch tape to stick it together.
And voila! Done! Bonus–I was able to use the leftover lace burlap on my brooch bouquet, score!
